1. Introduction and commitment

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which deprive a person of their liberty so that others can exploit them for commercial or personal gain.

Synchronous Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We act ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships, and we are committed to systems and controls that guard against slavery and human trafficking taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.

2. Our organisation

Synchronous Ltd provides consultancy, project delivery, engineering and automation services across construction, logistics and entertainment industries. We frequently work within the supply chains of larger principal contractors and clients, often on regulated construction and fulfilment sites.

3. Our supply chains

Our supply chains include subcontractors and labour providers, equipment and materials suppliers, software and technology providers, and professional services. We recognise that the construction and logistics sectors, and the use of agency and migrant labour, can carry a heightened risk of labour exploitation, and we focus our attention accordingly.

4. Policies

This statement is supported by the following policies and practices:

5. Due diligence and risk management

Our due diligence is proportionate to our size and will mature as we grow. Current and planned measures include:

6. Reporting concerns

Anyone who suspects that modern slavery may be occurring in our operations or supply chains should report it to legal@synchronous.net.

Where there is an immediate risk to a person’s safety, contact the police on 999.

Concerns can also be raised with the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700.

7. Training and awareness

Those responsible for engaging labour and managing suppliers understand the risks of modern slavery and how to recognise and respond to warning signs. As we grow, we will formalise this into structured training and keep training records.

8. Measuring effectiveness

We keep our approach under review. As the business develops, we intend to track indicators such as the proportion of key suppliers confirming anti-slavery commitments, completion of awareness training, and the number of concerns raised and how they were resolved. We will report on progress in future statements.

9. Approval

This statement reflects our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. It is reviewed and updated annually and is approved by the directors of Synchronous Ltd.
